My first experience here and I very much liked this place, very warm and the staff was very welcoming, I especially enjoyed the flow groove with Sarah. Will be coming back.
I had hoped for a warmer, more inclusive experience at the studio, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. As an English speaker, I found it impossible to follow along without any guidance / support and was scoffed at when I asked for some cues before class. I felt that the atmosphere could be more welcoming and was scolded 3 times for minor misunderstandings / walking with shoes. Some additional support from the staff and instructor, Cristel, would have made a big difference in helping me feel more comfortable during the class & at the space. It felt like a cold corporate business rather than a heart centered yoga studio.
I love this studio for hot yoga! The schedule gives lots of options and every teacher is so impressive - kind and welcoming, but also willing to push you and give helpful assists or answer questions when needed. It's easy enough to follow along even with my bad French and you'll learn some new words. Definitely my favorite spot for yoga & fitness in town
The class I took was all in French, I couldn’t understand French but staff are helpful and nice! Peaceful yoga studio in cute area.
3.5 stars. My first time going and it was a nice challenging class with a welcoming instructor. Entirely in French and I don’t know if they offer bilingual classes. The issues I have are related to the layout and size of the classes. A very cramped entrance with people everywhere and it’s unclear where to put your shoes (I learned it’s in the change room). The change room is incredibly small with tiny lockers and minimal bench space. Three showers for hot yoga is disappointing given the 30+ people in the class (mostly women). I was never able to relax given the lack of space before and the distance between mats during. At the end, people were given towels on their face while in shavasana, which would have been a nice touch but the instructor missed me (ironically I was closest to the heat and would have appreciated a towel on my face). I waited for many people to clear out because I wanted to avoid the crowds but the cleaner was already in there and it made me personally feel rushed merely because she was already mopping up. Despite not getting a towel at Modo (on saint Laurent), they excel in all the areas this place lacks. Would return if I was in the area, solid OK.
I went to the community class on Friday with Joel and it was really nice ! First, the space is amazing. So big with good lighting and very well equiped ! Joel was really good at keeping the class accessible to all levels and all energies. Loved the place. Would recommend, a welcome addition to the idolem network !
I have been practicing for 20 years and have been to many studios over time. As much as I love hot yoga all year around, I really love to practice in a space that is soothing and calming for my spirit and for the price, I am not finding it here. The city is chaotic enough as it is and my yoga studio, I would hope, would offer a break from that. People are so noisy and talkative (EVERY time!!!!) that I can't center myself and get into my practice. As a neurodivergent yogi (autistic and adhd) it's disappointing that I can rarely find a studio these days that actually offers my nervous system rest and I find it ableist and inconsiderate. The studio is doing it's community a disservice by not taking accountability for others keeping quiet and remaining respectful of the space AND the practice. If people want a social club, it shouldn't be here or at the very least SHHHHHHH!
Very disappointing, I came all the way from Chateauguay (that’s like an 1h away and there is traffic) just to try the yoga and unfortunately with got there 3min late and didn’t let us go into the class. I understand that they have rules but it was juste very mean girl behavior. If you sign up just make sure you’re on time if not they won’t make an exception. ——————————————— Hello, Thank you for your detailed response and for crediting my account. I understand the importance of rules for maintaining order and appreciate the consideration given to my situation. My intention was to share my experience and how I felt, not to criticize the policy. However, I must express concern about a separate issue. The owner contacted my friend and suggested that our access to future classes would be blocked unless I removed my review. This felt like an attempt at coercion and goes against my right to free speech. I was not contacted directly, which made the situation more unsettling. I hope we can resolve this matter constructively and that my feedback will be considered to improve how exceptions are managed in the future. Best regards, Fernanda
