When I asked if they could correct the issue in the video the employee said "it's normal, there are 6 pulleys." He went on to say that it's how it's done at their gym and that it won't change. I encourage you to find another gym. Even Econo right out front takes better care of their equipment.
🚨‼️GYM INSALUBRE / UNHEALTHY GYM ‼️ This gym is not cleaned daily. They also recently removed all disinfecting sprays that are commonplace in every other gym in the world. Nautilus is encouraging the spread of germs and diseases with this gym. The photo of this disgusting floor is one that hasn’t been washed in over 3 days. Someone spilled their drink and it’s still gross like this. Again: Nautilus no longer provides paper towels and disinfecting spray to clean machines after use. This is a health risk and is disgusting. Nautilus does not bother or care to update anything or fix any issue. There’s been a bowl of yellow liquid just hanging out in the middle of the gym capturing mystery leak fluid from the roof. All the lockers are completely rusted and the smell of mold has completely overtaken the locker rooms. They removed paper towels and justified that as being a “eco green initiative”. Meanwhile, every other Nautilus gym has paper towels. There are places in the gym that have not been dusted in years. There’s piles of dust visible on the exposed pipes everywhere. The floors are completely destroyed and creak everywhere. There is a severe lack of mirrors in front of many squat racks. How are people supposed to check if they have correct form? It’s borderline dangerous. Some cable machines are clunky and when cables snap, is takes a minimum of 10 days for them to get fixed. Staff does not seem to care about the facilities. In other gyms, I’ve seen staff actively walk around and organize misplaced weights. Here? Nothing. Weights are all over the place, almost every machine is either rusty, busted, handles are broken or the leather upholstery is ripped and damaged. Their iso bench press machine has a bent handle, making your workout uneven and prone to injuries. This has not been fixed in over 3 years. There are frivolous machines nobody uses and machines that are sorely lacking, like a hip thrust machine. I don’t understand what the hype is all about with this place. It’s gross, dysfunctional, and run down.
I only went once while visiting from out of town but wow was I ever impressed with the variety and quality of the machines! Can say I have not seen such a good setup having visited over 25 different gyms.
I really enjoy the classes but the space is in desperate need of some TLC. It's always busy and yet the facilities and equipment hasn't been renovated in many years. It's not cheap to go here and so for the premium price you would expect better facilities. Please sweep up the hair in between group classes, the floor is always covered in long hair which is gross when you're doing floor or mat workouts. You're better off with a membership at econofitness.
FANTASTIC GYM do not believe the bad reviews, the equipment is top tier, clean throughout, NO bad smells anywhere. ice cold water fountains. way more variety of weights/machines than Goodlife or any other corporation, lots of room for anything you might want. they even have a 10 foot tall leg press machine like what?! There’s even a section for machines that use some sort of air compression & the resistance feels amazing . Everyone was kind and respectful, music not too loud. Not smothered with TV’s & advertisements. will absolutely return as often as i can
This gym is consistently very busy— but unfortunately the facility is not being properly maintained. Basic equipment like yoga balls and balance trainers (half balls) are deflated. There are only 4 by the way) This makes certain workouts frustrating & impossible to do. There are also ongoing maintenance issues in the space. Every few months there’s a roof leak with a bucket placed on the floor to catch water,🫣 Many of the exercise mats are visibly worn and deteriorating. For how full the gym is and how many people use the space, these are very basic things that should be addressed. At this point it feels like the bare minimum of upkeep isn’t being done, which really takes away from the experience.
Pros: The staff is very nice and helpful. Cons: There are no paper towels or disinfectant spray bottles and 90% of members don't bring a towel because it's not enforced. As a result, no one cleans up the equipment after use. The men's locker room constantly smells like sweat and mildew.
I am surprised there are so many bad reviews. Are we going to the same gym? There are definitely lower costs gyms providing about the same service level (I do not care about having a session with a coach or nutritionist, I just want a gym), but overall if this location works for you like it does for me, it’s a good gym. I do agree they could do a bit of policing for towels/weight dropping and it could be cleaned a bit more often (dust), but it’s a large space with a lot of natural light, enough machines and some tv entertainment for cardio. Would given 4.5stars if it were an option.
