Rachel Santos, owner of Cadance Jazz & Pilates, offers rare, high-quality Classical Pilates instruction in downtown Montreal. I enjoy other fitness modalities including yoga, contemporary Pilates classes, and resistance training, but these classical sessions with Rachel have given me a new level of body awareness, mind–muscle connection, and physical capability. Her attentive and precise teaching makes every movement count. After nine sessions, I feel stronger and more centered — challenged but never discouraged. I am truly inspired to continue this journey.

I’ve also taken the Pilates classes and found them way more helpful than practicing at home. Rachel is super supportive and really attentive - her small adjustments make a big difference. I have been taking jazz classes at Cadance for a little over two years, and am so happy to have found this studio! Rachel is an amazing instructor who truly cares about her students, offering thoughtful corrections while keeping things fun and engaging. As someone who danced for many years as a child and then returned as an adult, I’ve found this class to be the ideal fit. It challenges me while helping refine my technique but it also has brought back the passion and love for dance that I had while growing up. I've been taking beginners modern jazz with Rachel for just over a year. She's a great instructor and the classes are always challenging yet fun and with lots of laughs shared during the sessions. Rachel has such an easy going manner and her choreographies are magical. Always have fun at Rachel's class!!

I've been a student of Rachel's for 3 years doing Pilates and danse! The pilates completely alleviated my back pain and the danse class is giving me more balance and stability every day! All classes are super fun and Rachel is just an all around great teacher !
I love watching the Cadance Jazz & Pilates dance videos. I wish I were in Canada where they are because I would take pilates and jazz classes and perform at events with them. It would be nice if this company offered lyrical classes because some of the jazz dances are too slow for jazz dances. If this company offered a groove class, I would take that class too. Jazz Dances are not that slow, like lyrical or modern dances. Majority of jazz dances are fast and average pace. Keep being successful, everyone.
I started attending Pilates classes in early 2024 and my lower back pain DISAPPEARED after a few weeks! I love the classes and Rachel's teaching style. Rachel gives lots of modifications to make each exercise and movement adaptable to different levels. The workout is always a challenge but it's so worth it.
