5pm march 2nd 2026 worst service I’ve ever had no help whatsoever. Employees at the front desk laugh at you/don’t take you seriously. They have an ego.
Upon arrival they informed that the swimming pool is closed for a couple of years already. Maybe update your information on google?
One of the best places for fitness. Got a whole lot of activities for summer and for winter. Enough equipments for cardio and weights but when it comes to squats with smith machines it gets a lot crowded during peak times like 6-7AM and 6-8PM. Cleanliness is at a good level, good personal trainers(even though I haven’t tried anyone for myself yet but I can see them training others and I think they are good ) Good options to play games like Basketball and Volleyball. Haven’t tried swimming pool yet. So overall a nice place and I recommend this place. 👍🏼
Have been training here since I was a McGill student and, 24 years later, I'm still training here, but am considering changing if this place doesn't get better within the year. The staff used to be friendly but lately customer service leaves much to be desired. The renovations to the Plus locker room inconvenienced everybody for over a month and yet the place is still full of mold. The gym is overcrowded. Classes don't always start on time. Sometimes instructors at the pool don't even show up. Terrible--its really gone downhill in the past few years.
Signed up for a zumba class after a trial. During the trial the teacher was nice and fun. However after I payed, it turned out she was temporarily replacing someone else and the actual teacher was way too fast and didn’t really engage with the class, which is kind of important when you are teaching. Anyways, never went back as this style turned out to not be the one for me.
I have been a member at this YMCA and it is a very nice place, yes the front people letting you in are rude. The facilities are great, I took Yoga, Pilates and fitness classes and all the instructors were very helpful. As far as the bathroom, showers, sauna, people it's a public place you need to take precautions, seriously if you are walking around that area barefoot, well guess what you are asking for problems, I wish people would wake up and pay attention at where they are. Overall I like the YMCA
I am a member and I love my Y. Yes, it is a downtown location, so it gets crowded at times. Yes, trainers and staff are mostly volunteers, so there can be little issues with time, desk service, etc. But if you look beyond those minor everyday realities of a community-oriented organization's operational details, you find a well-supplied gym with several great facilities and very dedicated health specialists. My one *real* issues? The idiots that can lift up weights, but MUST drop them from a height to grunt their masculinity out loud rather than showing their real strength and gently putting down their weights. It reverbates through the entire floor and management should be stricter with such behavior.
Good gym and respectful staff. However one of their front staff employees Maria older age short hair is very rude. After referring two people with no added free months i asked her about it and she simply didn’t want to deal with it. Asking me to come another time i said ill be back tmo and she answered by saying okay whatever whatever. Very disrespectful and makes me rethink my membership of 5 years in that gym.
