Wow! I came across District via word of mouth, and I'm glad I did. District is the best gym and personal training experience I’ve had in Montreal. A few months ago, I started with two personal training sessions a week with Sharif, and quickly increased to three — that’s how much I enjoyed the experience and saw real progress. Sharif is an outstanding and rare personal trainer. He’s positive, motivating, and has a rare talent for clearly (emphasis on clearly) explaining not just how to perform an exercise, but what you should be feeling and why. He tracks progress carefully, benchmarks where you are, and builds plans that keep you moving forward. Results have translated beyond the gym - with the personal training sessions, I’ve become noticeably stronger with increased endurance and stamina on the tennis court. Sharif is also reliable — always on time, and quick to communicate if I need to rescheduled. What I really appreciate is how every session starts with a genuine check-in: “How are you? How are you feeling?” It sets the tone that this is a safe, supportive space, and makes me feel confident in my program and progress. On top of that, the gym itself is always clean, well-maintained, and filled with big, beautiful windows that bring in natural light, a game-changer compared to other gyms I’ve been in. If you’re looking for personal training, or just a great gym environment, Sharif is your trainer, and District is your gym.

I found them on the internet and their 5.0 rating came to my attention. I have been attending their classes since 3 weeks ago, and I gotta say that this is a real 5.0 experience. Super clean place. Highly organized plans for the classes. Only 8 people in a class which gives you a kind of semiprivate training experience. And the most important thing is the supportive, helpful and kind behaviour of both Sharif and Em as the trainers. They don’t just throw the sets on you and actually walk you over the movements and correct you. Highly suggested💯 Update to my previous review (Feb 12th, 2026): I am updating a review after almost one year since I put my first review which was in mid March 2025. I started personal training with Sharif in Summer 2025 and I have to say that it was one of the best decisions that I made during last year. Sharif designs workouts based on personal goals and more importantly previous injuries that the person has had and this makes the experience to be very effective and towards making progress. Also, if you have chronic injuries, I would recommend trying a session with David where he identifies the weaknesses of your body the best way possible. I did so and afterwards, Sharif integrated David's comments in my workout plan. This has helped me a lot. 100% worth giving a shot.

I cannot recommend District enough. I’ve been active and trained my whole life and have never had as positive and rewarding an experience with training as I have with Sharif at District! The group training classes are super fun and different than workout classes I’ve done at other gyms, and in personal training I have been able to reach strength goals that we set together that I never thought I’d be able to do. I have also struggled with pain in workouts in the past and Sharif’s focus on form and movement makes sure every workout is done right. I look forward to every single one of my workouts at District and feel lucky every day to have found this gym!!

The best fitness center I’ve been to in YEARS. I’ve been doing personal training with Sharif for almost 3 years and recently started doing group training classes as well. I can’t say this enough — Sharif is the real MVP. He’s knowledgeable, approachable, and super adaptable. I’ve been active all my life and Sharif met me exactly where I was when I joined the fitness center, and he continues to meticulously adapt my trainings to help me meet my ever-changing goals. Sharif has also been incredible throughout my recovery from an injury, carefully curating my trainings to complement my physiotherapy program. The community at District is amazing as well. I’ve met some great people along the way and look forward to seeing District continue to grow. Cannot recommend this place enough — my friends and coworkers can confirm this!

Hands down the best gym in town. Small in scale but big in results (free marketing one-liner for you guys, don't thank me). The time spent in group training always flies by, I'm never bored and I always feel fantastic afterwards. It's more strength than cardio-focused and I appreciate that so much more than other classes I've taken anywhere else. Sharif is so supportive but also encouraging. I am almost afraid of recommending it to too many people because I want to make sure to keep my spot in the small group classes!

This gym quite literally changed my life. I went to this gym a little over a year ago now, and my trainer Sharif picked me up and gave me everything I needed to turn myself around 180 degrees. Before coming to district I was always out of shape, not being super interested in fitness, but the vibe that district offers changed my opinion completely. I’m now addicted. I can’t go without it. And it’s one of the most beneficial decisions I’ve ever made in my life, not only physically, but also mentally. This is the best it gets when it comes to personal training, no questions asked.

I've only had a couple of training sessions at District PT, but I've already noticed an incredible improvement in my posture and balance. I struggle with lower back pain. Knowing this, Sharif has modified my routines to build strength and workout safely. Strongly recommend District PT. Sharif is extremely knowledgeable.

If your looking to get in shape or a workout program or if your in need of Physiotherapy you have found the right spot. They even have an App with all kinds of workouts so when your not Training at District PT you can Training using there online workouts. Julia and Sharif are very knowledgeable and are excellent trainers. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend District PT.
