If I can give this place no stars I would, I went into the gym and didn’t change my shoes in the gym and wasn’t given permission to step in. Mind you there is no snow and the area isn’t wet. There were also multiple people that went in after me without changing their shoes and nothing was said to them. Had there been snow or if the roads were wet and I was coming in with wet shoes then I completely understand why I cannot step in but that was not the case. Also I don’t understand how a gym can be so unsanitary, to clean up the equipment they expect you to use a reusable shareable rag instead of paper towels like any other gyms, how is that okay? The purpose is to clean the machine after use, but using the disgusting community rag defeats this purpose. Please do better, you guys are so quick to take money but can’t even deliver. And teach your staff to be more reasonable and not so unhelpful, they don’t do shit as is.
I really enjoy working out at Fitness Crunch Gym. The equipment is modern and always in good condition, and the gym is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful, which makes the environment very comfortable. It’s a great place for both beginners and experienced people. I definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking to stay fit and motivated.
Great gym place! Nice staff and complete equipped! My place for working out!
First time signing up. I am sorry to say I am disgusted. The gym is absolutely dirty, there is no excuse for this. I could see cobwebs forming around the tv’s hung on the wall. Every corner of the gym had cobwebs. I didn’t even dare go to the bathroom because I don’t know what I will see. But please clean your gym. Sharing a wet towel to disinfect each equipment before use is a stupid idea and a very dirty and disgusting one at that. Please get disposable wipes. I won’t be returning here. I hope the other locations are not this terrible. This is absolutely unacceptable
I was invited by a friend to try the gym. When we arrived we were told that I would have to pay $20 for a day pass or sign up for a free trial online and wait 24hrs for a response. Not unwilling to pay $20 but asked the gentleman at the counter if we could simply try it this time as I had filled out the online form that day. He said he could ask the manager. He returned from the office which was 3ft away and said his manger said no. I understand the rules and the point of the structure of the process. I take issue with the fact that the manager could not even take the time to get up, speak for themselves or explain why to me, the customer. Had they done that I would have gladly paid the $20. I was willing to become a member but unfortunately will not be returning, even for the free pass I should be receiving in the next 12hrs.
Update: My phone isn’t blocking anything I get unknown-number calls constantly. Blaming my settings is a weak excuse. You avoid putting things in writing, ignore emails, and then pretend the issue is on my end. Your message just confirmed it: the communication is sloppy, and it shows exactly how your business operates. :) -------------- Let me make this crystal clear, because this isn’t about “the contract” at all. This is about Crunch Lachine repeatedly avoiding written communication and relying on fake phone attempts to cover themselves. Here’s what actually happened: 1) I emailed them my cancellation. 2) They didn’t respond by email — they called instead and told me it was canceled. 3) Later, a different employee told me, “We called you and you didn’t answer.” Except the call was a one-second ring. No human can answer that. I called back immediately and someone picked up right away. So clearly, they were available. Then today it happened again. I had my phone in my hand. They called, the screen flashed, and they hung up in under a second — just enough to create a “missed call” record — then they disappeared. That’s not communication. That’s not customer service. That’s just a tactic to avoid putting anything in writing. If everything is truly “clear in the contract,” then there should be no reason to dodge emails, no reason for one-second phone calls, and no reason to pretend the customer “didn’t answer.” These patterns speak for themselves.
Update: The nightmare continues! These people are relentless! They take horrible customer service to an extreme level! After days of silence they finally call to tell me that they have cancelled my membership but that they won't be giving me a refund for the month that I have paid. I was upset but said 'Ok so I'll use the gym until the end of the month because I paid until the end of the month'. The guy tells me that I need to re-instate my membership for the last week and a half of the month AND THEN cancel it again before I get charged for another month. I said "No that's not really fair. I have already paid for the month. So I should be able to use the service that I paid for...or you refund the difference". He then starts to berate me over the phone (just like the owner! So he is obviously setting a bad example for his staff as well!) and tells me "We are doing you a favor by not charging you a cancelation fee!" Let's get this straight! If you own a business, your customers are paying you to provide them with a service. There aren't "favors" involved. It's a business transaction. You wouldn't go to a restaurant and pre-pay for a meal and they only give you two of the things you ordered and tell you that they are doing you a favor by letting you order five things but only giving you two things, right!? Doesn't that seem insane!? I'm honestly shocked that people like this own businesses and yet lack the social and emotional intelligence to provide their customers with basic human decency! Original Post: I wanted to take a chance on this place despite the bad reviews. But I too am disappointed. I am partially disabled from previous injuries to my body. I really wanted to take things slow and ease back into a gym routine. My friend suggested I bring her son's friend. He is a personal trainer but he was just helping me as a favor. He understands that I have previous injuries and I asked him to show me how to use the equipment. We have been there together twice and everything seemed fine both times. The few times I have been, the staff is always very unfriendly. I have never seen any trainers, nor anyone being helpful. I paid extra for the membership that allows me to bring a guest so I could bring my friends to help me. I was also trying to get my boyfriend to sign up for a membership as well. The woman at the desk today was very rude and asking a lot of questions about my friend. She said that he wasn't allowed there and my friend told me that the owner called him and said he "can never come back". I asked to speak to the owner and he called me and yelled at me over the phone! He told me that if I "just asked" to bring my friend that he would have allowed it, but that he wasn't allowed there anymore because I didn't get prior approval. It does not say in in my membership paperwork that I have to get prior approval of my guests or "ask" who I can bring as my guest. It seems really inappropriate to force members and guests to go through such a strict approval process. It feels discriminatory. I also think that they are not understanding of people with physical handicaps and disabilities. While I was on the phone with the owner I asked for a refund of my membership. He spoke over me, raised his voice, and even yelled before hanging up on me. This behavior is very unprofessional and abusive. Members should not be treated this way. When you pay money to a gym you should feel safe, respected, understood and get what you are paying for out of the service. This place feels unsafe and unwelcoming. Also, as mentioned before the gym is very unclean. The bathrooms are not properly cleaned. The staff is rude and unfriendly. I would much rather give my money to a gym that is of better quality and service to their members.
I never prefer this gym to anyone. I went there with my boyfriend they told that get have some offer going on and made me to sign up for the membership and charged around $200 in 2 months. This gym is really a scam to get people money. When I called they said I am saying lie now this guy is telling I am not a member. I am attaching my crutch fitness app screenshot. People see how they are lied
